There are several major proposals on this year’s ballot.
One of the most talked about is proposal one, which would legalize marijuana across the state.
“Right now, we’re all kind of in the dark. We don’t know. We just know it’s coming. And eventually we’ll see a lot of business from it,” said Patrick Frasik, owner of the Shop Nature’s Relief Clinic in Bay City.
He isn’t worried about the vote.
“I think everybody’s on board for sure,” Frasik said.
He is worried the state hasn’t told dispensary owners what happens if the vote is a yes.
“They have to come up with rules and they haven’t done that yet. We don’t know if there’s going to be any separation between recreational and medical,” Frasik said. “The system isn’t set up for it right now. We’re hoping the state can give us some guidance on where it’s gonna go.”
Where it does go is in the hands of voters.
“I guess if it’s in the right place, time and place for everything,” said Bill Bernelis, Bay City resident.
“No, I don’t think it’s a good idea for recreational marijuana. There are other ways for recreation and I don’t think it’s a good idea,” said Barbara Vandenbelt, Bay City resident.
